Service sets: as individual as the appointments overall

The new service sets are also distinctive in design, featuring as they do decorative surrounds in high-gloss black, with silver as an alternative – the first time that individuality has been offered in this area. The service sets feature round air vents, individually adjustable in all directions, as well as reading lights for each passenger, plus loudspeakers and a call button. The connecting trim between the service sets is finished in black man-made leather with an embossed diamond-pattern. The alignment of the service sets within the ceiling air duct is also designed as a modular feature: should the spacing of the seats be changed at some future date - for example if a second-hand bus is converted from a four-star to a three-star seating layout – the positioning of the service sets can be adjusted to match.

Individually equipped galley kitchen, made to measure

Operators wishing to be able to serve their passengers with warm drinks or snacks may opt for one of the compact galley kitchens that can be fitted next to the central entrance just back from door two. A galley with a hot water boiler suitable for making tea is also offered with the requirements of British customers specifically in mind.

For the first time, Mercedes-Benz is presenting a completely redesigned galley in the Tourismo RHD, with a look that is perfectly coordinated with the interior design of the Tourismo RHD. The specific equipment here is variable and designed to meet the needs of even the most discerning customers: a 60-cup coffee machine, an espresso machine or tea-making facility, a hot dog heater or a microwave are all available. On top of the kitchen there is a large storage box for supplies - or an additional coolbox can be fitted here. The housing for all variants is identical. The new galley features energy-saving technology, is operated via a touchscreen and is microprocessor-controlled – high-tech in the Tourismo RHD extends to its appointments, too.

Underneath the kitchen is a multi-purpose compartment that can be accessed in tried and tested fashion from both inside and outside. This can be furnished with all the necessary equipment, from a mattress and lighting to heating, air conditioning and an on-board telephone, to provide a rest area for a driver.

Opposite the kitchen, just in front of door two, is the location for the optional washroom and toilet compartment. As hitherto, this is also available in a reinforced long-distance version with larger tanks and particularly robust fittings, which can optionally include an electric hand drier and a hand-sanitiser dispenser.
